American Silver Eagle Proofs
American Eagle Silver Proofs produced as collector versions of the official U.S. bullion coins and are only available in a 1-ounce size. American Eagle Silver Proofs are crafted at the U.S. Mint located at West Point and come bearing the "W" mark printed on the coin. Proof coins can be identified by their mirror-like finish and raised frosted images.
American Eagle Silver Proofs contains 99.9% pure silver. The 1-ounce coin has a face value of one dollar, containing 0.999 troy ounces of silver and has a weight of 1.0000 troy ounces. "Proof" Silver Eagles refers to the U.S. Mint manufacturing process, which produces a higher quality coin. Proof Coins are minted on special highly polished dies. The coins are then struck multiple times at lower speeds and are made exclusively for coin collectors.
